Linde produces specialty flocculants, corrosion inhibitors, and scale-control chemistries for municipal water authorities and industrial customers. The product line is narrow on purpose. The company makes a small number of chemistries very well, and has done so for nineteen years.
Linde operates two plants in northern Ohio and a third, smaller plant in Saxony-Anhalt that serves the European utilities market. Both American plants are unionized and have been since founding. The company has not had a major work stoppage in its history.
Barlow acquired a controlling interest in Linde in 2017 in a transition from family ownership. The company has been operated by the same management team since.
